About Me

Education and Experience:

I completed my undergraduate studies at Rutgers University in 1992. I received my Masters in Counseling from University of Pennsylvania in 1998. I have been a therapist for 25 years and have worked in community mental health, residential, school, hospital, and private practice settings. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oregon. My license number is C1761.

Therapeutic Approach:

I believe that the therapeutic relationship can be deeply healing. I listen with great attention and care to help clients identify unhealthy patterns in their lives. We are complex beings and I find that therapy is most rich and effective when it captures that complexity. I help clients understand how their upbringing and past relationships inform their current functioning. I also offer tools clients can use to shift thinking and behaviors. Ongoing dialogue about what clients find most helpful is always central to my work.

Personal:

I moved to Portland from New Jersey in 1998. I am so very grateful for the beauty and lifestyle of the Pacific Northwest. And, as much as I love the Portland way of life, I have been told that I still have some East Coast humor and assertiveness. I am married with two teenage children. I treasure time with family and friends, reading, travel and yoga. I learn from my clients on a regular basis about what it means to be brave and vulnerable and this work deepens and broadens my own life.
